Php code displaying

Why is it so, that whenever you want to display some php code, it always displays ?> at the end? Look at it:
php Code:
Original - php Code
  1.
  2. $a=0;

RE: Php code displaying

I don't think anyone edited it....something is strange with my code displayer...sometimes it adds php tags, sometimes it does not. It is something I need to check into...
