Quick Reply

Does anyone have ever ask for this? I did and now I ask it again
I need a quick reply function (simple textarea with a button) on the thread, so when we want to answer a thread we just wrote to that textarea instead of to click on the "Post Reply" button.
So.. clicking "Post Reply" button will give the complete functions, like smilies, thread resolved, etc..etc. but Quick Reply only give textarea for the reply of the last post/thread.

This is a good idea. But what would be the default value for the boxes "Resolve this thread" and "Subscribe to Thread"?

Of coz the default value would be NO or 0 (zero)

Nice idea, but where would the textarea go? there isnt alot of space inkeeping with the current style of the forum is there?

it can be putted after the last post, before the maroon box.

Good place to put it, i think the quick reply would be a very good idea to have. Also the subscribe to thread could be a checkbox or radio button just above a submit button for the quick reply.

that way, we will probably only get more useless posts where users post just for the sake of posting.. (kinda like when we had post counts..)

when you need to open a new page before you can post, you probably do that only when you have something (smart?) to say..

btw, what browser do you use? if it is mozilla (firefox), than maybe i can make a bookmarklet for you..

btw2, if you don't use some browser with tabs (ie, if you still use IE), switch, and switch today.. i recommend firefox, but any will do.. ;)

Are you sure? When we had post counts, there was a reward for posting which caused useless posts to appear. But a quick reply box isn't a reward, it shouldn't give any reason to post nonsense dee-ba-da-bah. I'm not saying it isn't possible, I'm saying it's improbable. And hey, if problems do appear, we can always get rid of the box.
