All it took was one line of code to change, adding a column to the db, and writing a 6 line script to populate the new column.

I like easy one's like that

how do you reduce the char level to 3 letter words in a MySQL database???

Please help I am desperate to do this to a search engine that I currently have.

It can be done via the ft_min_word_len configuration option as seen here:

It seems to be only the basic acronyms why not add a quick case logic before the search

XML = extensible markup language
slq = xxx
php

At most there are only about a dozen acronyms that are regularly searched I sure. Kinda a half donkey way to do it, but it would solve the recompile problem and would not be a speed factor
