Start page
How about another preference option of favorite startup page for example, on successful login, you get directed to the php coding forum. Or if the save cookie is selected, we are also directed to the favorite startup page.

I could do something upon login...but doing it when you first come to the site would be troublesome....

could you not log a "start" page for each user? either in the cookie or in the db?

I could, but then how to determine if they really want to go to the start page? Maybe they just walked away from their PC for 20 minutes and left Codewalkers open? Maybe they are trying to return from a bookmark to a specific page...lot's of maybe's on that one....
