Request for tutorial

Is there anyway we can talk our local hacker (notepad) into writing a tutorial on security? Something that shows the various attacks as well as viable, simple ways of thwarting them?

RE: Request for tutorial

maybe you could make it a multi part series... injection, mail form exploits, login, protecting includes, etc. etc.

RE: Request for tutorial

heck - while we're at it... maybe a tutorial on good basic coding practices. commenting, error handling, DB access credentials, initiating variables, error reporting set to E_ALL... Hmm - maybe I'll write something on that. What ya think? Anything else you would want to see in something like that?

And I like the multipart idea for the security tutorial. But I understand if that is too much.

RE: Request for tutorial

i've come up with (what i believe to be) a pretty good flowchart for a security conscious developer. now, i just need to fill in the gaps... give me a while though; i've got several other projects i'm juggling

i like the best practices idea too. maybe add code-formatting to your list

RE: Request for tutorial

I'd add something on variable naming, and coming up with a convention and decently named variables too (for lig's)
